LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday granted protective bail to TikToker Rajab Butt in a blasphemy case registered against him in Karachi.

Justice Farooq Haider heard the petition for protective bail as Rajab appeared in the court along with his lawyer.

The lawyer argued that Karachi police registered a baseless blasphemy case against his client. He stated that the petitioner wanted to join the investigation but feared his arrest.

He asked the court toallow protective bail to the petitioner so that he could appear before the court concerned in Karachi.

The judge granted the protective bail to the TikToker till Jan 28 and directed him to approach the relevant court in Karachi before the next hearing.

Hyderi Police Station in Karachi registered the case against Rajab for allegedly creating content that offends religious sentiments.

The complainant, Riaz Ali, accused the TikToker of violating Islamic values. Staf f Reporter
