Profiling of non-custom paid vehicles begins in Lower Dir

LOWER DIR: The excise and taxation department on Tuesday started the process ofprofiling non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles in the district.

According to official sources, a total of 30 vehicles were registered at specified centres in Timergara, Chakdara and Munda on the first day.

Khan Mohammad, an excise inspector, said that profiling of 10 NCP vehicles was completed in Chakdara, 15 in Timergara and five in Munda while the process would also start in Lal Qila on Saturday next.

He said that about 12,000 NCP vehicles were profiled in the district during the previous drive launched in 2023. He said that the district was on the top in NCP vehicles as compared to other districts. He said that the owner had to provide a copy of CNIC, an affidavit, vehicle`s documents and the NCP vehicle during the profiling process.

The district administration has set up four sites in Timergara, Chakdara, Munda and Lal Qila for profiling of all NCP vehicles.

A meeting in this regard was held in Timergara with Deputy C o m m i s s i o n e r Mohammad Arif Khan in the chair. Representativesof police, excise and taxation and other stakeholders attended the meeting.

The excise and taxation officer, Imtiaz Khan, briefed the meeting regarding the process.

The deputy commissioner along with the additional deputy commissioner, Gauhar Ali, visited a vehicle profiling centre in Timergara. He checked some of the vehicles and their documents. He directed officials to extend cooperation to vehicle owners.

AIOU: Allama Iqbal Open University Timergara region on Tuesday arranged a briefing at Government Higher Secondary School Munda for the guidance of students and tutors regarding admissions for the spring semester 2025.

Regional director Shahid Ali Orakzai briefed the newlyappointed tutors so that they could meet the educational needs of students.

He informed them about the university`s admission process, curriculum details and teaching system.

He assured tutor of all possible support to overcome the challenges faced by them in teaching the curriculum. The new tutors appreciated the guidance provided by the regional office and expressed their determination to discharge their teaching responsibilities to the best of their ability.
