Dr Naseem Ashraf`s book launched

PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, hosted the launching ceremony of a book `Ringside, Maidan-i-Amal` authored by Dr Naseem Ashraf, former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board and former head of National Commission for Human Development.
The event was attended by KMU Vice-chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq, former chief secretary Shakeel Durrani, former KMU vice-chancellor Prof Hafeezullah, renowned academics, intellectuals, diplomats, faculty members, administrative staff and students.
The ceremony began with selected excerpts from the book, showcasing Dr Naseem Ashraf`s leadership experiences and his relationships with prominent personalities in Pakistan and abroad. The book critically examines evolving political scenarios and highlights the contri-bution of various political leaders and intellectuals.
Addressing the event, Prof Ziaul Haq praised Dr Naseem Ashraf`s contribution. He described the book an inspiringbiography that offered practical strategies for addressing contemporary challenges. He noted that the book provided valuable guidance to young readers, helping them to define a clear pathfor their future.
In his speech, Dr Naseem Ashraf thanked KMU for organising the event and referred to his book as a culmination of his life experiences. He expressedthe hope that it would inspire youth to utilise their talent on both national and international platforms.
During the event, Dr Naseem Ashraf presented signed copies of his book to Prof Ziaul Haq and other guests, who reciprocated with a commemorative shield and a token of appreciation.
The launch of `Ringside, Maidan-i-Amal` marks another significant step by KMU in fostering an intellectual and academic atmosphere. The event offered an opportunity to the participants to engage in insightful dialogue and knowledge sharing.
The book provides a detailed analysis of post-9/11 US-Pakistan relations and has been widely appreciated in literary and diplomatic circles for its historical depth and critical insights. The Urdu version of the book `Maidan-i-Amal` has also garnered acclaim for its thoughtful examination of leadership andbilateralties.
