BAHAWALPUR: Two minor sisters died on Wednesday, while the third suffered serious injuries, when they were run over by a rashlydriven tractor-trolley on their way to school, near Uch Sharif, about 70kms from here.

According to police spokesman, the three minor sisters left their house located on link Makhan Bela Road for school.

They were crossing the road, when a rashlydriven tractor-trolley ran over them.

As a result, Sobia (11), a student of Class IV, and Uzma (4), studying in Class I, died on the spot, while their third sibling, Fatima (10), suffered serious injuries, and was rushed to Ahmedpur East THQ Hospital, where her condition was stated to be critical.

Police claimed to have arrested the tractor driver, who had fled thescene after the accident.

In another incident, a woman and a driver were injured when a school van hit a tractortrolley during heavy fog near 82-Mor, Choonawala, near Hasilpur.

As per Rescue 1122, the injured woman, Farah Parvaiz (30) and van driver Tahir (48) were shifted to the Hasilpur THQ Hospital.

Police reached the scene to complete the legal process.

MAN SET ABLAZE: A man suffered critical burns allegedly when his neighbour set him on fire after dousing him in petrol in Bhatta Colony No 2 in Bahawalpur.

According to Rescue 1122, the victim, Ameer, alleged that he was in a street when his neighbour Uzair, threw petrol on him, set him on fire and fled.

As a result, Ameer suffered serious burns on his face and neck. He was shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH), Bahawalpur, in a serious condition.

The Cantonment police reached the scene and started investigation.
