LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet committee on legislative business has recommended increasing the amount of benevolent fund for government servants.

A meeting of the committee held at the Civil Secretariat and chaired by Law Minister Basharat Raja here on Thursday recommended increasing marriage grants for employees of BPS-l to BPS-15 from the present Rs20,000 to Rs100,000 and for BPS-16 and above from Rs50,000 to Rs150,000.

It also approved raising the fund for educational scholarships from Rs5,000 to Rs50,000 and monthly grants from Rs5,000 to Rs15,000.

Chief secretary Yousuf Naseem Khokhar and heads of other relevant departments attended the meeting.
