Govt asked to clarify position on Saudi grant

By Our Correspondent 2014-03-22
MARDAN: Central leader of Awami National Party Senator Zahid Khan has asked the rulers to clarify their position over getting $1.5 billion grant from Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at `meet the press` programme of Takht Bhai Press Club here on Friday, Mr Khan said that the PML-N-led federal government should explain for what purpose they had gotten such a huge grant from Saudi Arabia.

He questioned whether the countrymen would have to give further sacrifices for getting the said grant or there were some other hid-den plans of the rulers of both the countries. On the occasion, he also criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and said that PTI had failed to bring about change in the lives of people that it promised during general elections.

Mr Khan alleged that the PTI chief was overpowered by Nawaz Sharif after approving a park in front of his Banigala residence and now his party had become a friendly opposition in the National Assembly.

On reservations of people about the structure of underconstruction Takht Bhai flyover, he pledged that their reservations would be removed and it would be built according their wishes.
