SHEIKHUPURA: A protest was held over the death of a woman who had died after getting `treatment` from a quack in Khund village near NarangMandionTuesday.

Asghari Bibi, wife of Ameen, was suffering from fever and she approached a quack, identified as Aslam, in the same village. The quack administered an injection to Asghari and gave her some tablet. Afterconsuming the medicine, her condition deteriorated and she died on way to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital(THQ),Muridlce.

Asghari`s family held a protest in the village and demanded the authorities take action against quack Aslam.

Narang Mandi police also registered a case against the quack. In another incident, an elderly woman, identified as Munawar Bibi, died after being run over by an expresstrainnearMuridke.
