Woman admits killing daughter under husband`s `pressure`

SHANGLA: The mystery surrounding the murder of a 12-yearold girl has been resolved as her mother has confessed to strangulating her daughter at the behest of her husband and brother-in-law.

DSP Alpuri Mohammad Riaz Khan told mediapersons at a press conference on Friday that mother of the victim confessed she strangled her daughter to deathon Wednesday night in Sar Kamar area.

He said the girl`s mother had filed a complaint with Alpuri police accusing her brother-in-law of killing her daughter on the instigation of her husband.

Police had, however, taken the woman into custody on suspicion of her involvement in the murder.

During interrogation, the police officer said, she confessed to killing her daughter. He said the accused woman told police she did so after threats from her husband and brother-in-law.

The cause of the death, she said, was a domestic tangle with her husband. She said a month back her daughter complained to police her fathershavedherheadandtortured her when she took side of her motherduring a scuffle with him.

Taking action on her complaint the police arrested her father, but later he was bailed out.

The DSP said the accused woman added in the confessional statement that her husband left home and went to Dara Adamlchel. She said on the day of the incident her husband and his brother told her to kill her daughter, or she would be killed. So, the woman said, she killed her daughter under duress.

According to police, father and uncle of the victim have also been arrested and are under interrogation.

PML-N WORKERS CELEBRATE: The PML-N workers celebrated the Supreme Court verdict in the Panama Papers case after Friday prayers in Alpuri and termed it a victory for the federal government and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The activists gathered at the residence of party`s provincial president Amir Muqam in Alpuri and chanted slogans and distributed sweets.

PML-N district president Intikhab Alam, later addressing a news conference accused Imran Khan of using government funds on his political activities.
