NTC against free trade with China

RAWALPINDI: The National Tariff Commission (NTC) chairman, Abbas Raza, has said that the NTC has strong reservations over Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China.

`We have conveyed our concern to the government also and it has agreed that in future it will not include the products in trade agreements with China which are being produced in Pakistan,` he said.

He was visiting Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) along with his team on Thursday.

Earlier, President RCCI in his address of welcome said Rawalpindi`s main industries were marble, gems and Jewellry, besides pharmaceutical, poultry and textile.

He said the prevailing situation in the country was not business friendly but RCCI was striving hard to promote local products in international trade markets through `Madein-Pakistan` expos. A Reporter
