PESHAWAR: A group of people belonging to different tribal districts on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against alleged abduction, rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl, Farishta Mohmand, in Islamabad`s Shehzad Town and demanded early arrest of the culprits.
Holding banners and placards outside Peshawar Press Club, the tribesmen shouted slogans against the Islamabad police and said that the girl had been kidnapped four days ago, but FIR was not registered despite her father`s repeated requests.
The protesters urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of the incident and ensure provision of easy and swift justice to the victim`s family.
They said the victim`s family from Mohmand had shifted to Shehzad Town area about five years ago due to lawlessness in the native district. The protesters warned that if the killers were not arrested within 24 hours they would announce march on Islamabad to observe a sit-in outside the Parliament House. Bureau Report
