UNPAID TEACHERS: The Sindh

2023-05-22
Teaching Interns Programme (STIP) was a great initiative by the School Education and Literacy Department to fill the vacant posts of subject specialists. Many young, talented and energetic men and women were recruited through walk-in interviews. However, they have not been paid for months. In some districts, these candidates have been working for 16 months without pay. Many of them had left reasonable jobs for this opportunity, but they are now suffering from hunger and starvation. The authorities must release the salaries of interns.

Abdul Razaque Chachar Pano Agil > SHORTAGE OF PARKS: Amusement parksare agreatsource ofentertainment and recreation. There is a shortage of such parks in Gulshan..i-Iqbal area.

People have to travel a long distance to go to such a park and relax with families and friends. Most of the children play in the streets in the evening as they have nowhere to go. I request the higher authorities to pay attention to this problem.

Reeba Saleem Karachi KOTRI-DADU TRACK: Last year, the Kotri-Dadu train track was shut down due to flooding. Once the situation improved, the track was fit for operations, but the relevant authorities for some strange reason are not willing to resume the service. In fact, three special trains were announced for the annual spiritual congregation at Sehwan, and they all operated safely; indication enough that the track is fine. The residents of the area pay high fares to travel through buses and vans. The authorities must restore the train service between Kotri and Dadu.

Talat Aziz Dadu ORDINARY PAPER: We recently had a midterm exam in Postgraduate College, Karak. It was my first exam as a lecturer, so I was surprised to see the ordinary style of paper and strange responses from students. We need to prepare students for the challenges ahead, not left behind.
