KASUR: City Pattoki police booked a former police official for giving fake currency to a shopkeeper in the main bazaar.

Shahroz, a former cop, purchased cloth from the shop of Muhammad Aslam and paid in new currency bills. The shopkeeper checked them in the machine and found them as fake. The other shoplceepers held the suspect and handed him over to police.

Police also claimed to recover more fake currency from his pockets, lodged a case and put him behind the bars. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Tariq Aziz sacked four policemen over absenteeism.

The DPO also withheld one-year increments of 10 officials, including two inspectors, three sub-inspectors and five assistant sub-inspectors, for poor investigations and negligence from duty.

Additionally, the DPO also reprimanded two cops over abuse of power. Correspondent
