LOWER DIR: The residents of Rabat area of Lower Dir district on Sunday demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and high-ups of the elementary and secondary education department to order resumption of construction work on the building of a government higher secondary school in the area.

Talking to journalists in Timergara here, the area elders complained that the contractor had demolished the dilapidated building of the school, and had started construction of the new building.

However they said that work on the project was stopped in February this year due to unknown reasons.

The elders complained that hundreds of students were getting education under the open sky due toabsence ofthe school building.

They said that the local elders had contacted the authorities concerned many times, urging them to restart the work on the school building, but to no avail.

They demanded of the government and authorities of the education department to take notice of the matter and restart work on the building immediately.
