Jirga resolves blood feud in Shangla

SHANGLA: A jirga of elders has settled a blood feud between two families in Lilownai area of Alpuri here.

The dispute over property has so far claimed life of a man and injuries to another.

The local elders had made strenuous efforts for months while meeting both the rival families, convincing them to end the hostalities and live in peace.

Elders, including Mohammad Farooq Khan, Mohammad Azam Khan, Ali Bash Khan, Zahid Ali Khan, Shah Saud Khan, Mohammad Sarab, Shahtoot, Mesal Shah, SHO Alpuri police station Rohul Amin Khan and other notables attended the final round of the jirga held in Lilowani area.

Bahadar Shah and Shah Faisal, heads of their respective families, forgave each other and pledged to live in peace in future.

Meanwhile, the District Headquarters Hospital, Alpuri, has launched free treatment facility for children under the Sehat Sahulat Card programme.

The free treatment facility was launched on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, medical superintendent Dr Ibrahim Khan said that the facility would enable people to get free medicines and treatment of their children.
