KARACHI: The Commander of Corps-V, Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, on Tuesday visited Abdus Sattar Edhi at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation and inquired after his health.

Gen Mukhtar gently held Mr Edhi’s hand and praised his decades-long services to humanity.

He said Mr Edhi was the epitome of compassion and kindness and was truly an undisputed icon of Pakistan.

He was quoted by the media as saying that Mr Edhi had proved that all good deeds could be performed with perseverance despite hardships and hindrances.

Last week, Mr Edhi received a bouquet and a card, wishing him a healthy life, sent by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and his wife.
