KARACHI, July 21: Commissioner of Karachi Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has ordered that all surveillance cameras installed by private security agencies at different banks and financial institutions located at I.I.

Chundrigar Road be immediately linked to the central control room of Karachi police to enhance security.

Presiding over a meeting to review security arrangements at banks and financial institu-tions, he said the `Wall Street` of Pakistan has to be made an example in terms of security of institutions and safety of workers.

He said closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the banks and offices located on the road must be connected to the central control rooms of Karachi police and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to respond promptly if anything untoward hap-pened.

The project of `Rapid Deployment Force` at the city`s financial centre was also discussed at the meeting and it was decided that a focal group comprising all relevant stakeholders would be constituted to ensure its proper implementation.
