KARACHI: A teenage male house servant died during treatment at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Thursday after being allegedly beaten by her female employer two days ago in Malir Cantonment, police said.

Malir Cantonment SHO A. D. Chaudhry said two days ago 16-year-old Hanif Abdullah approached them along with his brother saying that he had been beaten by a lady identified as Ms Anila, where he worked as a domestic servant in the Malir Cantonment.

There were bruises on his hand and claimed that he had been beaten with a blunt instrument.

The police gave him a letter to fulfil legal formalities and he was admitted to the JPMC for treatment, where he died on Thursday, the police said.

Quoting the medico-legal officer, the police officer said that the cause of his death had been reserved.

The SHO said that further legal action would follow when they would receive the post-mortem report. The victim hailed from Mirpurkhas.
