BASTAD: Luciano Darderi maintained his perfeet record in ATP finals as he held off Jesper de Jong to win the title in Bastad, Sweden on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Darderi won 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 against first-time finalist De Jong to add to other clay-court titles he won in Marrakesh earlier this year and in Cordoba in 2024.

`It`s amazing. Today I was really nervous from the beginning, even from last night,` said Darderi, the world number 55.

`It`s my third ATP title, so at 23 years old it`s really exciting.

Darderi becomes only the third man with multiple clay titles this year, joining Carlos Alcaraz (three) and compatriot Flavio Cobolli.-AFP
