People urged to work for bright future of special children

TIMERGARA: Lower Dir District Nazim Mohammad Rasool Khan on Monday urged all segments of society, especially the well-off people, to come forward to help the special children secure a bright future.
He stated this while addressing a function at tehsil headquarters hospital, Talash, after distributing hygiene kits among 200 special children.
The Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), a non-government organisation, arranged the function under its children with disabilities programme. Parents of children with disabilities and elders also attended the function.
The nazim said state alone could not take care of special children, adding every member of society should extend supportin thatregard.
He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had approved Rs50 million for construction of a high school for special children, and land for which had been purchased in Khungi area near Timergara.
He said work on the school construction would start soon.
The nazim said the district government would also arrange pick and drop service for students of the school.
Talash hospital MS Dr Khaista Rehman shed light on hygiene principles, infectious diseases and prevention from dengue, hepatitis and diarrhoea. He asked the parents to take care of their children and keep them clean and neat.
IT LABS OPENED: Chairman district development and advisory committee MPA Saeed Gul on Monday inaugurated information technology laboratories at government high schools in Sangolai, Shehzadi and Hajiabad.
The district nazim, district education officer Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim, councillors and elders were present on the occasion.
VILLAGERS` DEMAND: The residents of Gujro village, a remote localit y in Samarbagh tehsil, on Monday demanded of the local lawmakers and tehsil government to start work on development schemes of water supply, link road, school and electrification.
Talking to journalists, Abdul Aziz, Tariq Khan, Khan Bahadar and others said local MPA Izazul Mulk Afkari had announced several development schemes for their village but work on them was yet to start. They said there had been no facility of clean drinking water, link road, school and electricity in the village. They threatened to come on the roads if work on already announced schemes was not started within a month.
