Two people electrocuted in Bajaur

BAJAUR: Two persons were electrocuted in Bajaur district’s Mamond tehsil here on Wednesday.

An official of Rescue 1122 said that the deceased were fixing a fault in the switch board of a flour mills in Sultan Baig area when they were electrocuted.

They were identified as 38-year-old Mohammad Khan and 25-year-old Roohullah.

Riaz Ahmad Khan, a spokesman for Rescue 1122, told Dawn that the two men were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, in critical condition, where they were declared dead.

The area residents said that the deceased were close relatives. They said one of them, Mohammad Khan, was a teacher in a government primary school for boys in Sheikh Baba area of Mamond tehsil.

They said that the region experienced power loadshedding of up to 22 hours a day.

However, they said that while the two men were fixing a fault in the switch board of a flour mills the electric supply was restored all of a sudden, electrocuting them.

Later, the deceased were laid to rest in their village in the evening.
