LAHORE: The Orange Line Metro Train operation remained suspended on Monday for three hours following orders of the city district administration in the wake of a religious congregation on the eve of second death anniversary of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Rizvi on Multan Road the route of the orange line.
`The orange line operation remained suspended from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. We were first conveyed by the city administration to slow down the operation, followed by another to temporarily suspend it,` an official source in the Punjab Masstransit Authority told Dawn.
However, the deputy commissioner termed the information in context with the time duration of suspension incorrect.
`It was stopped for half an hour during dispersal of the TLP crowd. Three hours is a wrong information,` he clarified, adding he didn`t pass any order on halting the operation for three hours.
