DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Kot Mithan police thwarted a robbery attempt at a petrol pump in Kot Mithan on Tuesday.

Upon receiving the information, the police pursued the robbers. In an attempt to escape, the robbers opened fire on the police. During theencounter, one of the bandits, identified as Nadeem Gondal, was killed as a result of gunfire from his own accomplices, according to a police spokesperson.

Another bandit, Rafiq, was arrested during the operation. The third bandit fled. The police seized a stolen motorcycle, one Kalashnikov and a pistol from him.
