LAHORE: The police have imparted training to 103 security guards of various Churches of the provincial capital on modern lines to meet the security challenges.

The guards were trained in weapon-handling, firing and the dealing with emergency situation.

They attended several training sessions at the Police Lines, Qilla Gujar Singh, under supervision of highly trained police officials.

Addressing the guards, operations DIG said the purpose of training them was to enable the Churches to meet the growing security threats on their own.

He said the law enforcement agencies would also continue to provide protection to the minorities by visiting their worship places.Staff Reporter
