TERRORISM has engulfed our country like an epidemic. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has authorized school administrations to keep weapons for self-defence which to me does not seem a viable solution as the safe keeping of these weapons is a tough task.
It would be wiser to keep trained dogs that can smell danger like explosives and suspicious persons in the vicinity of schools and raise the alarm. Also, if the need arises, these canines can chase the culprits and help law enforcers apprehend the criminals.
This can be equally useful at banks, hotels, malls, hospitals or public places where there is risk of a terrororist act being committed.
