QUETTA: The Balochistan government and the Grand Health Alliance (GHA) have resolved their issues after successful negotiations on the latter’s demands, after which the alliance leaders late on Wednesday evening called off their two-week-long strike across the province.
As a result of negotiations, GHA chairman Dr Bahar Shah and other doctors, who were detained by the Quetta administration under MPO3 and sent to jail, were released, while the GHA spokesman announced the resumption of medical services in all government hospitals.
According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, all matters have been resolved amicably, and the alliance has been given assurances to prevent strikes and protests at hospitals in the future.
Mr Rind said the Pakistan Medical Association representatives played a mediatory role in the negotiations between the alliance and the provincial government.
