Munir goes further down in Myanmar golf

KARACHI, Feb 22: Mohammad Munir of Pakistan slipped five places further after the second round of Myanmar Open Golf Championship in Yangon after playing one-under-par 73 on Friday.

According to Asian Golf Association results received here, Munir played first round of 2-over-par 74.

But put up a slight improved show of a stroke by playing one-under-par 73, with an aggregate of 147 and thus was tied with seven other golfers on 120th position at the Royal Mingalardon Golf and Country Club.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat is in position of winning a second Asian Tour title after shooting a five-under-par 67 for a two-shot lead in the halfway stage of the event.

The Thai rising star, who was the co-overnight leader, struggled with his putting but scrambled to a 13-under-par 131 total at the US$300,000 event which is the curtain-raiser for the 10th Asian Tour season celebrations.

Thai duo Thanyakon Khrongpha and three-time Asian Tour winner Chawalit Plaphol, who shot a 67 and 66 respectively, were further two shots back on 133.-APP
