Six passengers held at airport

RAWALPINDI: The immigration staff of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Benazir Bhutto International Airport detained six passengers for trying to travel to Dubai on forged documents on Sunday.

Inam Ghani, the director FIA Islamabad zone, told Dawn that the six passengers from Gujar Khan and Kalar Syedan carrying employment visas tried to board a commercial flight with forged immigration stamps and insurance receipts.

He said as the passengers handed their travel documents to the immigration staff for clearance, they were found forged.

The passengers were offloaded and handed over to the anti-human trafficking cell of the FIA for further investigation, he added.

The detainees were identified as Mohammad Farooq, Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Bilal, Mohsin Abbas, Mohammad Bilal and Bilal Ahmed.

During the preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed that they had got the forged protector stamps from a travel agent.

The FIA immigration staff also arrested another passenger, Umar Hussain, a resident of Chakwal, with a forged visa for Nepal.-Staff Reporter
