ISLAMABAD: The chairman of National Rahmatul-Lil-Aalameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyyin Authority has said youth were the key drivers of change, and equipping them with necessary tools to foster peace in their communities was essential.

Khursheed Nadeem stated this while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled `Youth Collaboration for Resilient Society` organised by the Peace and Education Foundation on Saturday.

The workshop brought together 25 participants from diverse backgrounds, including academia, religious scholars, media influencers, transgender activists, and political workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory.

The participants engaged in interactive group activities, sharing insights and experiences while identifying key challenges faced by their communities.

The discussions focused on preventing violent extremism and fostering resilience within society.

Nacta representative Zooni Ishfaq emphasised that engaging youth in preventing extremism is crucial, and such initiatives can make a real difference.

Journalist Arooj Raza expressed that youth have the potential to contribute to creating an inclusive society.

`This PEF initiative has provided a foundation by engaging youth from diverse sectors. Now, this youth should equip themselves to become global citizens, Ms Raza said.
