Two varsities pledge collaboration in research

OKARA: The University of Okara (UO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korakoram International University (KIU) on the sidelines of the Vice Chancellors` Forum 2023.

It aims at fostering academic and research collaboration between the two universities in various fields, including exchange of faculty members and students, joint research programmes, conferences, seminars and exchange of academic material and publications.

UO Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmad, who signed the MoU along with KIU VC ProfDr Attaullah Shah, said the collaboration would open new opportunities for students and faculty members to explore new horizons in their academic pursuits.

Prof Shah said: `We are pleased to sign the MoU with UO which is known for its academic excellence and commitment to research. We believe this collaboration will strengthen the ties between the two universities and enhance the quality of education and research.

The MoU was initiated by Dr Ghulam Mustafa, Chairperson, Department of Chemistry at the UO PRO VC: The Higher Education Department has nominatedProfessor Dr Muhammad Wajid as Pro Vice Chancellor of University of Okara for a period of three years or till his superannuation. Dr Wajid has assumed the charge of the post.

FREE FLOUR: Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman visited Okara and Renala Khurd to monitor free flour supply points and directed administration to be vigilant regarding the flour supply without any shortage.

He was accompanied by Sahiwal Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed, Regional Police Officer Mehboob Rashid and Deputy Commissioner Dr Muhammad Zeeshan Hanif. Correspondent
