Former minister, 52 PTI activists booked

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The police registered a case against 53 activists, including a former PTI provincial minister, with the Rajanpur city police for blocking the Indus Highway and chanting slogans against the government.

The police registered a case under sections 341, 506, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Act of 1960-16, against former provincial minister Hasnain Bahadar Darishak and 52 other PTI Rajapur chapter activists on charges of blocking the inter-provincial Indus highway and chanting anti-government slogans.Led by Mr Darishak, the activists held a protest demonstration against the government and blocked the Indus highway at Allahabad Chowk. They delivered speeches against the government and chanted anti-government slogans.

COLLISION: A head-on collision between a bus and a truck near Ghazi Ghat took the lives of the drivers of both vehicles and left 12 passengers injured. Rescuers 1122 transported the dead and injured victims to Dera Ghazi Khan`s Ghazi Medical College teaching hospital.

The commissioner directed the medical superintendent to provide free treatment to the injured and sought a report from the traffic police about the accident.
