LAHORE: A judicial magistrate of Cantt courts on Saturday withdrew non-bailable warrants for the arrest of TV actor Nazish Jahangir in a fraud and criminal breach of trust case after she appeared in the court.
Ms Jahangir along with her lawyer attended the proceedings before the magistrate while complainant actor Aswad Haroon also appeared before the court.
Earlier, the magistrate had issued arrest warrants for Ms Jahangir for failing to appear, ordering the police to arrest and present her in the court on March 22.
However, upon her presence, the magistrate revoked the arrest warrants and ordered her to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000. He adjournedthe hearing till April 28.
Actor Aswad Haroon registered a case against Ms Jahangir with Defense-C Police Station in July 2024, alleging that she had borrowed a car and Rs2.5m from him for a project, promising to return them within two months but failed to do so even after six months. He said the actress, her accomplice Sikandar Khan and three unidentified armed men issued him life threats at a farmhouse where he was invited to take his belongings back.
Nazish Jahangir had denied the charges against her in media statements.
Last year, the Lahore High Court had directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to decide an application of Ms Jahangir wherein she sought to stop propaganda against her on social media.
