KARACHl: Two young brothers died of inhaling toxic gases in an underground water tank in their home in Mowach Goth on Sunday, police said.

They said that the incident took place in Bukhari Mohalla. The victims were identified as Ali Jan, 35, and Madad Ali, 45.

An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said the deceased were brothers and originally hailed from Dadu.

The bodies were shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi to fulfil medicolegal formalities.

Robbers shoot two over resistance Two men were shot and wounded by armed robbers over resistance in the Korangi area on Sunday evening, police said.

They said Rizwan Aslam, 29, and Shahid, 45, put up resistance to robbers, who shot them and escaped. Both the victims were moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

Meanwhile, two suspects Faisal alias Chitta and Noman alias Bagola were shot and wounded during an alleged encounter in Surjani Town on Sunday evening.

Woman dies in accident A young woman was killed and her husband wounded when their car collided with a parked dumper on Shaheed-i-Millat underpass on Sunday, police and rescue services officials said.

They said the driver of the dumper parked the vehicle after it developed some fault.

Apparently, the fast-moving car went out of driver`s control and hit the dumper. As a result, Safia died and her husband was wounded.
