ISLAMABAD: The Chief Commissioner`s Office has reshuffled four Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) officers within the territory of the federal capital.
According to a notification issued on Sunday and available with Dawn, the basic pay scale (BS) 19 officer, Syed Karrar Hussain, has been appointed as AIG Operations with the additional charge of AIG General. He was earlier appointed as SSP Investigation.
BS-19 Officer Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer, who served as director operations Safe City, has been appointed SSP Traffic while BS-18 Officer retired Capt Mazhar Iqbal has been transferred as director operations Safe City.
Earlier he served as AIG Operations.
Similarly, BS-18 Officer Farhat Abbas Kazmi has been made SSP Investigation, having the additional charge of SSP Law and Order. His previous posting was as AIG Operations.
Meanwhile Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan visited the Police Lines headquarters. During conversation with the staff, he came to know that majority of the staff was on the verge of retirement and the police department might face severe staff shortage in the near future.
He directed DIG Headquarters to expedite the process of appointment of new staff.
