ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has declared `persona non grata` a staff member of the Indian High Commission for engaging in activities `inconsistent with his privileged status`.
The tit-for-tat action came a day after New Delhi declared persona non grata a Pakistani diplomat for `indulging in activities not in keeping with his official status in India`.
Both Pakistan and India asked the sanctioned officials to leave the country within 24 hours.
A Foreign Office press release issued late on Wednesday night said the Indian chargé d`affaires was summoned to convey this decision.

New Delhi also withdrew its own military advisers from the High Commission in Islamabad.
In response, Pakistan declared India`s defence, air, and naval attachés persona non grata and expelled them along with supporting staff.
Last week, Pakistan and India sanctioned one official each posted at the high commissions for violating their diplomatic status. They were ordered to leave the countries within 24 hours.
