Doctor gets life imprisonment for attempted rape of minor

BAHAWALPUR: An additional sessions court sentenced a doctor to rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs100,000 for attempting to rape a minor girl.

According to the prosecution, accused Dr Muhammad Kamran Khan tried to rape a 10-year-old girl in his clinic in Gol Plot in the limits of Mumtazabad police station, Multan in 2024. Hearing the screams of the victim, area people gathered at the scene. Mumtazabad police arrested Dr Kamran and registered a case against him.

The court announced the verdict after the trial and awarded rigorous life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs100,000. The court further ordered that if the convict failed to pay the fine, he would have to undergo an additional six months imprisonment.

ACCIDENT: Three motorcyclists were killed while two others suffered serious injuries in a collision between two motorcycles near AzeamwalaToba at Head Rajkan in the Cholistan desert in Yazman tehsil.

According to Rescue 1122, in a head-on collision between two motorcycles, Jassa Ram (45) his daughter Saran Bibi (12) and teenager Shahzain (9) were killed on the spot due to head injuries. The rescuers said one Waheed (22) and his elderly sister Zahooran Bibi (60) suffered serious injuries in the accident.

The bodies of the father and daughter were handed over to their family in the presence of police officials.

The body of deceased Shahzain and the two injured were shifted to the Ahmedpur East THQ hospital.

PECA: Gulghasht police, Multan has booked accused Nasir and Umar Hayat under the Peca Act for an alleged objectionable post on social media against complainant Saeed.

The complainant alleged that the accused had defamed him with the social media post. No arrest has been made so far in the case.
