LAHORE: Seven people, including women and children, were injured, two of them critically, when the roof of a house collapsed on them in Tajpura Scheme on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 launched an emergency operation after receiving alerts that several members of a family had been trapped under the debris. A police official said rescuers recovered allseven family members from the collapsed structure. Two of them were treated on the spot, while the others were shifted to a local hospital with multiple and serious injuries.

The roof, a TR-girder structure, was in a dilapidated condition, the official said. Police have launched a further inquiry into the incident. Staff Reporter
