Six killed over land dispute in Bannu

LAKKI MARWAT: Six people, a teenager among them, were killed and three others, including a 14-year-old girl, were injured when armed groups clashed over a property dispute in Sadri Mamandkhel area of Bannu district on Sunday, the police said.
The cantonment police said Rescue 1122 medical teams transported the bodies and the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Zahidullah, 34, from one group, told police that he along with his cousins was busy digging in their fields when Shah Baraz and Shah Alam came there and stopped them from doing so.
`Later, Atlas Khan, Habibur Rehman, Zubair and Mamoor also arrived and opened fire on us, killing Ibrahim, 16, Abid, 30, and Samiullah, 45, on the spot,` he said.
He said Sibghatullah, 46, Syed Alam, 35, and Najibullah, 47, were injured, and shifted to hospital, where Sibghatullah was pronounced dead.
Gul Bogha Bibi, 40, from the other side, told the police she and her uncles were attacked by rivals when they were working in a vegetable field.
She said her uncles, Noor Shah Alam Khan, 45, and his brother Shah Baraz, 40, were critically injured and died instantly, while her cousin, Gul Bushra Bibi, 14, was injured in the attack.
The complainant nominated Sher Wali, Najibullah (injured), Bakhtullah, Sibghatullah (dead), Syed Alam (injured) and their five unknown accomplices for launching the attack.
She told police that Najibullah, Sibghatullah, Syed Alam, Ibrahim, Abid and Samiullah were also injured in the attack, and of them Ibrahim, Abid and Samiullah died on the spot.
The police initiated an investigation after filing a case.
