SARGODHA: The local Anti-Corruption Establishment registered a case against patwari Muhammad Aslam for purchasing properties in and outside the country worth billions of rupees as well as a hotel in Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries.
The action was ordered by anti-corruption regional director after gathering all evidence.
Aslam is said to have built luxurious residences here in his name and of some family members, which were reportedly worth around Rs100 million.
When he was arrested last year, a provincial secretary had come to his rescue and the ruling elites were also allegedly supporting him. Aslam is also said to have misappropriated public funds and over Rs9 million of the Municipal Corporation.
