LAHORE: Columnist, journalist and president of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association Adeeb Javedani passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Tuesday. He was 70.

He was hospitalised three days ago with some allergic reaction. He has been a journalist for over 40 years and a columnist for over three decades.

According to Javedani`s son Kashif Adeeb, his contribution has mainly been in two areas, education and journalism. He built his first one-roomschoolinShahalam Market in 1977 and then established it as a school system, spanning over eight schools in Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujrat. He has been president of the association for the last 20 years. He continued uninterrupted printing of Moon Digest for 35 years.

Dr Mugheesuddin Sheikh said Javedani was committed to `Tal(meel-i-Pakistan Trust` and has worked tirelessly for realising the objectives of creation of Pakistan.

He says Javedani left behind strong legacy in journalism and education.

Shahid Rasheed of Pakistan Movement Workers Trust says Javedani was a spirited contributor to the trust and it was his enthusiasm for the cause that endeared him to people like former president Muhammad Rafiq Tarar and the late Majeed Nizami.
