SIALKOT: Lawyers took to streets on Tuesday to express solidarity with their Lahore and Multan colleagues at the call of the Punjab Bar Council.
They also boycotted courts across the district.
The lawyers, led by Sialkot District Bar Association (DBA) president Chaudhry Shaukat Ali, staged a sit-in at the offices of the deputy commissioner and the district police officer.
Earlier, in its emergent meeting, the DBA condemned the arrest warrants for High Court Bar AssociationMultan president Sher Zaman Qureshi by a bench of theLahore High Court.
SAHIWAL: Around 1,200 lawyers of the bar boycotted district courts proceedings. They wore black armbands and held a protest meeting. Lawyers protested the Lahore High Court bench which issued arrest warrants for their Multan colleagues.
Sahiwal Bar Secretary Chaudhry Usman said they condemned the manhandling of their colleagues in Lahore by police.
SARGODHA: The Sargodha District Bar Association also boycotted courts in solidarity with their Multan and Lahore colleagues.
Lawyers hoisted black flags on the bar building, staged a protest rally and announced an indefinite strike.
