Student commits suicide in Dir

TIMERGARA: A student of a private school in Talash committed suicide on Tuesday in Sarai Payeen village.

According to family, the student was unwilling to take his meal when he came home from school.

He entered the room and hanged himself from the ceiling fan with his belt.

Af ter some time, his parents broke the door of the room and found him hanging from the ceiling fan. He was taken to tehsil headquarters hospital in Talash where doctors pronounced him dead.

Also in the day, seventh grader Khan Zada, a resident of Samar Bagh, was killed when his motorcycle plunged into a deep ravine in Sodai Kharao, residents of the area said.

They said the student was coming home on his motorbike along with his friend from school when his motorcycle plunged into a deep ravine while negotiating a sharp turn.

As a result, Khan Zada was killed while his friend was injured.

The injured was taken to a hospital in Samar Bagh for treatment.

POLICE: Muhammad Karim, a resident of Kala Dag in Maidan, on Tuesday appealed to inspector general of police to tal(e notice of the attitude of local police.

Addressing a news conference at Timergara Press Club, Mr Karim along with his relatives Matiullah, Abu Bakr and others alleged that Maidan police were favouring Sultanullah of Bar Khany village despite the fact that he illegally cut his trees and razed the boundary wall of his house.

He said that Sultanullah had filed a case of monetary dispute on a fake stamp paper to trap him.

Mr Karim said that Lal Qila Maidan police tortured his son instead of taking action against the suspect.

He alleged that local police were favouring the suspect.

He demanded of IGP to take notice of the matter and initiate an inquiry against the DSP Amjad Khan in that regard.
