SUKKUR: A jirga (tribal court) held in Bhitai Colony near Tangwani town of Kandhkot-Kashmore district on Monday ordered a man to pay a fine of Rs350,000 after he was found guilty of maintaining an extra-marital affair with a woman.
During the jirga proceedings, the aggrieved and accused sides presented their arguments in the presence of their respective ‘advisers’.
Meeran Bugti, who chaired the jirga, after hearing the two sides ordered Dostain Bugti to pay the fine as the charges against him were proved.
Accepting the order, the guilty side paid Rs50,000 on the spot to the aggrieved side and promised to pay off the remaining fine amount within the next three months.
Later the two rival groups of the Bugti tribesmen declared an end to their hostility.
