JHANG: Kot Shakir police arrested two ice cream vendors who had sold the unhygienic ice cream to the children in Kotli Baqir Shah village, 45km from here.

Fifty-nine children, who were admitted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Athara Hazari, after consuming the ice cream on Tuesday, were discharged on Thursday.

According to police, a marriage party was going on in the village when two ice cream vendors sold ice cream to the children who were attending the marriage ceremony. In the evening, the condition of the children who had consumed ice cream started deteriorating and they started vomiting with most of them losing consciousness. The fainted children whose number was stated to be 59, aged between four to 12 years, were shifted to the hospital by midnight. Correspondent
