LAHORE: A new anti-terrorism court has been established in Sahiwal, adding to the number of such courts in the province to 15.
Officials said on Thursday that the court had been established in view of the inconvenience being caused to investigation of ficers of police, accused and their relatives, and witnesses in appearing before ATCs hearing their related cases in cities like Multan, Okara and Lahore. The Sahiwal division comprises Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Okara districts. And cases of these districts are being transferred to the at Sahiwal. There are 14 ATCs in the province. Of them four are in Lahore, two each in Rawalpindi,GujranwalaandMultanandoneeachinFaisalabad, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.Staff Reporter
