RAWALPINDI: A large quantity of cloth was gutted in a fire that broke out in a private multistorey godown in Purana Qila on Monday night.

However, no casualty was reported.

Nearly 15 fire fighters of Rescue 1122 and city fire brigade were rushed to the spot at about 9pm which were busy in bringing the fire under control till filing of this report at 11pm.

As the fire erupted, people from nearby shops and houses came out in panic.

The Hre erupted on the 2nd floor of the triple storey building and spread to the 3rd floor bringing to ashes a large quantity of cloth stored inside the building.

The cause of the fire was yet to be investigated. However, the rescue serviceproviders believe electric short circuit could be the possible cause of the fire.Staff Reporter
