‘Rangers to protect CPEC routes, installations’

LAHORE: A passing-out ceremony for the recruits of PRA-24 course was held at Pakistan Rangers Academy Mandi Bahauddin on Thursday.

One thousand recruits from across the country completed their basic training and joined the force. Pakistan Rangers Punjab Director General Maj Gen Umar Farooq Burki was the chief guest in the ceremony.

In his addressing to the ceremony, the DG Rangers said the soldiers would not only defend the motherland but they would also contribute to the security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by protecting trade routes and installations. He urged the soldiers to make the best use of their training and keep pursuing excellence in their professional life.

Paying tribute to the martyrs, Maj Gen Burki said the Rangers’ history was full of examples of supreme sacrifices and selfless commitment which should be the guiding light for all of us.

At the end, the recruits with outstanding performance were awarded prizes.

Col Mohammad Asghar Khan Niazi, commandant of the academy, and senior Rangers officials were present.
