LAHORE: A judicial magistrate at Cantonment Courts on Saturday reserved decision on an application by actress Meera for halting proceedings of a complaint by businessman Attiqur Rehman, who claims to be husband of the actress.

Advocate Balkh Sher Khosa argued on behalf of Meera the plaintiff (Rehman) had failed to produce any document to prove his claim for the last seven years. He said the petitioner was a `psycho lover` of his client and wanted to defame Meera through frivolous litigation.

Moreover, the counsel said, the matter was of civil nature and criminal proceedings could not be initiated in it. He asked the magistrate to stop proceedings on the private complaint by Rehman. The magistrate reserved verdict on the application.

Mr Rehman in his private complaint alleged that Meera committed a crime by contracting marriage with Captain Naveed as she was still his (petitioner) wife. He said Meera wedded to Naveed without dissolution of her previous marriage. He also accused Meera of occupying his house in DHA.

He sought a court`s direction for police to take action against Meera followed by registration of a criminal case.
