Man shot dead in his house in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed inside his house in Mamraiz Sulemankhel area of Lakki Marwat on Sunday night.

Police said that unidentified armed men escaped after killing Ziaul Haq in his bedroom. They said that the victim`s family had enmities.

Fazal Haqdad, 30, a brother of the deceased, told Tajori police that he along with his wife and children was asleep in his bedroom when he heard gunshots. He said that he also heard the sound of motorbike` engine and rushed to a room where his mother and brother were asleep.

`When I entered theroom, I found the body of my brother lying in a pool of blood,` he told police. He said that his family had three enmities in the village.

Police said that they began investigation after registration ofacase under relevant sections of law at Tajori police station.

DOGS: Workers of tehsil municipal administrations killed many stray dogs during a special campaign here on Monday.

The campaign was launched on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Fazal Al(bar following reports that stray dogs attacked and injured several people in Lakki and other parts of the district.

In Lakki city, more than 12 people including children were bitten by maddogs, prompting the administration to take notice of the situation. The injured were shifted to Government City Hospital where anti-rabies vaccine was administered to them.

An official said after reports about dog bite incidents, tehsil municipal administrations was directed to cull stray dogs in their respective areas.

He said that officials ofhealth and other departments assisted municipal workers to poison stray dogs.

He said that stray dogs were posing threat to people. He said that killing such dogs was inevitable to save people. He said that the municipal workers poisoned and killed stray dogs,collected their bodies and disposed of them.
