Swat man held for killing two sisters in name of honour

SWAT: The Manglawar police have arrested the man, who had killed his two sisters and left another injured for honour in Jamal Abad area of Sangota on Sunday evening.

This was stated by Swat district police officer Shafiullah Gandapur while addressing a press conference at his office here on Monday.

Flanked by other senior police officers, he said the weapon used in the crime was also recovered from the accused, Naseer Khan. He added the accused had confessed to his crime.

Meanwhile, he said the Saidu Sharif police had traced and arrested the robbers, who had brolcen into a house at midnight in Gul Kada area on December 22, 2022, and decamped with six tola gold, Rs45,000 cash and a cell phone. He added Mouhammad Tayab, owner of the house, had filed a report with the police.

He said the police with the help of modern technology successfully traced the culprits, including Jamal Shah, a resident of Shagai, Saidu Sharif, Fawad Hussain of Rajaabad, Mingora, Rafiullah of Khawajaabad, Mingora, Aziz Ibrahim of Shagai and Zulgarnain of Landikas. He said search for Shahab Idrees of Shirai Gulkada and Nauman of Gulkada-III was on.DPO Shafiullah Gandapur also disclosed that Matta police had arrested two accused, who had looted a filling station staff at midnight in Shukhdara area of Matta two weeks ago. They included Amjad Ali and Usama, residents of Shukhdara area of Matta.

He said the police also recovered the looted amount of Rs100,000 and three mobile phones from them.

He said the police, on a complaint of director Urban Development Authority, Swat, had arrested some land grabbers involved in cutting trees illegally in Kanju Township area. Correspondent
