FC soldier martyred in Dera attack

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: An Frontier Corps soldier was martyred by unidentified armed assailants in the jurisdiction of Gomal Police Station here on Thursday.
According to police, FC soldier identified as Ehsanullah, who was on leave and visiting his hometown, was present in Gomal Bazaar area when some unidentified gunmen opened fire on him. As a result, he was martyred on the spot.
A heavy contingent of police reached the site and shifted the body to a hospital.
The law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to trace the unidentified attackers.
Meanwhile, chairman of sub-division Wazir Malik Musto Khan along with his bodyguard and two companions mysteriously went missing in the jurisdiction of Daraban Kalan tehsil here on Thursday.
According to details, Malik Musto Khan Wazir, hailing from Bannu and affiliated with Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), visited Darazinda area of DI Khan on Wednesday to attend a funeral.The four men went missing under mysterious circumstances from the Daraban Kalan area when they were on their way back. The mobile phones of all the four persons are said to be switched off.
Later, the authorities recovered the chairman`s vehicle, however, Malik Musto Khan and his companions remain missing.
A search operation has been launched.
Meanwhile, two men were shot dead by unknown assailants in separate firing incidents in different areas of Dera Ismail Khan, a police official said on Thursday.
He said Gul Mohammad son of Khalid Khan went to his agricultural lands in Maddi area in the limits of Kulachi police station when unknown assailants shot him dead. The body was shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital Kulachiwhile the local police reached the site and started investigation.
In another incident, a man was shot dead at Waziristan Chowk on Bypass Road in the limits of Dera Town police station. Correspondent
